Bring on the blog conferences!

I have been a blogger for many years, and have been blogging here at Mama Geek for over two years now. I have watched as blog conferences have become more popular, with events like CybHer and Britmums Live being great opportunities for bloggers to get together to socialise and help each other to improve their blogs.

I’ve never attended one of these blog conferences, and so I’m pleased to announce that this April, May, and June, I will be attending not just one, but my first three!

First up is BlogCamp UK 2014, from the team behind Tots100. I’m really looking forward to this one, as it is in Birmingham so nice and local, and also free to attend, which is really quite fab! It promises to be friendly and informal so hopefully it will be a good introduction into the big wide world of blogging conferences!

Next up, will be Blog On 2014 organised by Blogs Up North. This event is held up in Manchester at the Museum of Science and Industry, which looks like a fantastic venue. I am really looking forward to the sessions, especially the photography session as I would love to get more out of my lovely camera, and the session last year sounded really great.

Finally, in June, I will be headed down to London for a few nights to attend BritMums Live. This is a well-established conference now, and promises to be really interesting with lots of informative sessions to choose from, and some great speakers.

Although I’m looking forward to all three of these events, I am a bit nervous about heading to all of these as I am often quite shy and tongue tied when surrounded by people I don’t know too well! I think that starting with the smaller ones and building up to the two day BritMums event is probably a good idea.

Who else is heading to any of these? It would be great to see some familiar faces, meet some new blogging friends, and also to put some faces to twitter handles of existing ones!
